Mystical and magical Khaptad
NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL KHAPTAD IS RICH IN HERBS, A RELAXING ENVIRONMENT, AND A RICH CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
-
Khaptad National Park consists of a middle and a high mountain with an average elevation of 3,000 m. It is located in the middle hills of the country's far west, where the districts of Bajhang, Bajura, Doti, and Achham meet. This park is unique because it represents one of the few remaining mid-mountain ecosystems in the Nepal Himalayas.
Khaptad is a Mystical and magical place where one can go and explore not only the place but your inner self as well, which helps you to think about, gives time to flashback, plan and think, questions and answers, about the realisation of mistakes and concluding to do something that you have thought about doing from a long time. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, everything is lush grassland, army barracks, a clear blue sky, a relaxed pace, cool breezes, and many
places to explore. Khaptad is an experience of a different kind. Every second spent at Khaptad, from enjoying a Clean, green environment, listening to the singing birds, being closer to Mother Nature, walking through an oak tree surrounded by a vast area of grazing land, and not forgetting the cultural and social significance of Khaptad, is a lifetime learning experience. Walking here makes you feel like walking on a natural, colourful carpet where you hope not to disturb the scenery. Being in Khaptad is also a lifetime experience, one that involves paying homage and praying for the salvation of friends and family.
This beautiful destination in far western Nepal is ideal for trekkers, researchers, and explorers to explore a less touristic area.

Khaptad is a plateau of grassland and forest, consisting of tall firs, yews, rhododendrons, oaks, dense strands of bamboo, and smaller shrubs. In lower altitudes, subtropical vegetation dominates the landscape; forests are mainly composed of montane species such as sal, pine, and alder. In higher altitudes, temperate vegetation prevails. About 224 species of medicinal herbs are found inside the park. Along with Nepal's national bird, the Danphe, 266 species of birds are found inside the park. Varieties of butterflies, moths, and insects are important parts of the Khaptad ecosystem. The park provides habitat for some 20 species of mammals, including barking deer, wild boar, Goral, Himalayan black bear, yellow-throated marten, leopard, wild dogs, jackals, Rhesus, and Langur monkey, with 135 species of flowers that bloom in the summer and late spring.
