  • Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the Pikey Peak, an extraordinary journey through the stunning landscapes of the Solukhumbu district in Nepal. This unique route takes you off the beaten path, passing through lush forests, vibrant valleys, and lush meadows, as well as breathtaking rhododendron forests, offering stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Along the way, you'll encounter the rich cultures and warm hospitality of the indigenous Sherpa, Rai, Tamang, Jirel, and Newar communities, offering a glimpse into their traditions and way of life.
    Sir Edmund Hillary regarded Pikey Peak as one of the finest vantage points to enjoy Mt. Everest. In addition to Everest, you’ll have incredible views of Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Numbur, Shishapangma, Thamserku, and Mera Peak.
    After descending from Pikey Peak (4,065 meters) and enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Junbesi via Jas Bhanjang. This fascinating trail leads you through tranquil forests, scenic meadows, and charming remote mountain hamlets. At Junbesi, we will visit Thupten Choling Monastery, then descend to Phaplu, a gateway to the majestic Everest region.

  • Moderate Trail: The Pikey Peak Trek is suitable for people of all ages with a reasonable level of fitness.

    Beautiful view: Sir Edmund Hillary called this one of the best views of Mt. Everest (the highest point on the planet).

    Mountain View: Pikey Peak trek offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountain range; we will have incredible views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Numbur, Sishapangma, Thamserku, and Mera Peak. On a clear day, you can see all eight 8000-meter peaks of Nepal from Pikey Peak.

    Cultural Experience: The trail passes through several traditional Sherpa and Rai villages, where you can experience the beautiful local culture, lifestyle, and hospitality.

    The cultural heritage of Dolkha dates back 5000 years. Dolkha is linked with the epic Mahabharata and the Pandavas.

    Buddhist Monasteries:  The trail passes through the ancient Buddhist monasteries, Thupten Chholing Monastery and Chiwong Monastery. In Chiwong Monastery, the annual Mani Rimdu festival is celebrated on the full moon night of the 9th month of the Tibetan Lunar calendar.

     

  • Day 1: Kathmandu to Dhap (2930 m) 6-8 hours

    Dhap is a hill station in the lower Himalayan range. From the top of Dhap, you will see the beautiful sunset. The drive takes around 8 hours from Kathmandu. Passing views

    We will drive along the Sunkoshi River until Ghurmi, then begin ascending through the charming small hamlets, vehicles, countryside, forests, and hilly roads, arriving at the picturesque Dhap. The cool breeze and mountains greet you upon your arrival in Dhap. 

    After check-in and some snacks, we will ascend to the viewpoint to enjoy the sunset.

    Day 2: Dhap to Jhapre (2920 m) 4-5 hours

    From Dhap, we follow the jeep trail to Jhapre. Today is an easy walking day. En route, we will taste local products, experience rural life, and see the majestic mountains and surrounding hills. 

     Day 3: Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3640 m) 6-7 hours

    We trek from Jhapre to Pike Peak Base (3640 m) by ascending and descending stone steps and forest with the Majestic Mountains and the surrounding hills.

    We will enjoy the natural landscapes in the evening. 

    Day 4: Hike to Pikey Peak( 4065 m), from Pikey Peak Base Camp to Jas Bhanjang (3520 m)

    We will climb for about an hour before sunrise to reach our top destination, Pikey Peak. With an incredible view of Mount Everest(8849m), Makalu(8163m),  Kanchenjunga (8586m), Numbur Chuli (6959m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), Khatang (6853m) Gauri Shankar(7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and other mountains, the sunrise and changing reflections add the magic that will remain forever in our memories.

    At Pikey Base Camp, we will enjoy our breakfast; then, we will walk down to the Jas Bhanjang.

    Day 5: Jas Bhanjang to Junbesi (2700 m).

    After breakfast, you follow the trail through the forest. After the forest, you walk through the meadow. Then we reach Taktor village. Have lunch in this village. Then we continue the trek towards Junbesi through a wide dirt road. Before arriving in Junbesi, you can visit the Buddhist Monastery. Junbesi is a beautiful village with a Buddhist Stupa and comfortable tea houses. This is the village of the Sherpa, Magar, and Tamang people. Overnight at Mountain Lodge

    Before reaching Junbesi,  we visit Thupten Choling Monastery. 

    Day 6: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2,469m) Duration: 5–6 hours

    We continue our walk until we reach Phaplu after visiting Thupten Choling Monastery and observing various aspects of their culture.  Phalplu is a Significant town in Solukhumbu and eastern Nepal.

    Day 7:  Rest day, Phaplu / Drive to Okhaldhunga

    Phaplu, a mountainous village in northeast Nepal, is a gateway for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Alternative to fly into Lukla, Phaplu, Everest Base Camp Trek

    Day 8: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu (8–10 hours)

    Subject to availability, we can take a 25-minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu. The road journey will take around 8-10 hours. From Dhap, the way back is the same as the one we took to reach Dhap.

    At Pikey Base Camp, we will enjoy our breakfast; then, we will walk down to the Jas Bhanjang.
