Deepak Raj Parajuli is an educator, Indigenous Knowledge researcher, and development professional specialising in Environment Education and Sustainable Development. He holds advanced degrees, including an MPhil in Education (Development Studies), an MEd, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environment Education and Sustainable Development from Kathmandu University, School of Education, and an MS in Geography and Environmental Resources from Southern Illinois University, USA.

Deepak has worked extensively on climate change and sustainability initiatives in Nepal, the United States, and Japan, focusing on bridging scientific knowledge with community practices. His research and practice emphasise the importance of indigenous wisdom in addressing modern environmental challenges and shaping sustainable futures.

Currently based in Japan, Deepak serves as an advisor to the Mountain Mandala Institute, guiding the team through online mentorship and periodic visits to Nepal. He provides strategic direction in curriculum development, climate action projects, and indigenous knowledge integration.

Passionate about experiential and community-based learning, Deepak believes education must connect local traditions with global sustainability challenges. His vision is to empower young people as responsible citizens and changemakers who carry forward both scientific innovation and cultural wisdom.
